Although I am on travel this week (business, you know) when I return there should be more than a few boxes stacked up awaiting their turn on my gaming table.
Combat Commander: Europe (4th Printing 2019, GMT Games, 2006)
The Armchair Dragoons sent me the newly released Combat Commander – Mediterranean 3rd Printing and Combat Commander: Resistance 2nd Printing for review but I discovered that, though I own Combat Commander: Pacific (reviewed for ACD in April 2021), I need the Europe game to play the two new releases. So it was off to Noble Knight for a (hopefully) gently used copy.
My intent for acquiring so many Combat Commander games is to do a “Card Wargame Throw Down” with Combat Commander against another The Armchair Dragoons-for review wargame: Point Blank: V is for Victory from Lock ’n Load Publishing.

What can I say? I am a sucker for a good-looking sci-fi roleplaying game (RPG). As the ad copy promises:

Hunt for Blackbeard (Fort Circle Games, 2026)
Hunt for Blackbeard started in the GMT Games P500 program (2018?) but was dropped before Fort Circle Games picked it up. Funded via Kickstarter in mid-2024 for delivery late-2024. Finally shipping now mid-2026. The path to the game has been long and winding but I am really looking forward to this Volko Ruhnke design that focuses on, “detection, deception, and confrontation.”
