S. Korean Cadets Visit Egypt
Oct. 15, CAIRO, Egypt — Two South Korean naval ships carrying some 120 Korean Naval Academy cadets make a port call on the Egyptian port city of Alexandria on Oct. 15. The cadets departed their home country on Aug. 25 for an overseas training mission scheduled to last until Dec. 24. (Yonhap)
The ship pierside is the KDX-II class DDH-977 Dae Jo Yong. The ship behind is probably a Cheonji-class AOR (replenishment oiler).
So, the ROKN has some ships in the area of the Somalian pirates. How much do you want to bet they do nothing? After all, who would want to ruin a cadet cruise with actual WORK!

There is a debate right now in government, these ships may indeed be in the mix come November.
