This is the first month tracking my new game play recording approach where any day I “touch” a game—be it to play or explore it for at least 15 minutes—counts as a “play.”
- Modern Armored Warfare: Desert Storm 1991 and Croatia 1995 was by far the winner in January as I needed “play” time to translate the rules and then learn and play both the Desert Storm (Iraq 1991) and Operation Storm (Krajina, 1995) scenarios.
- I also started translation work for the Iron Debris System: Space Battles in the 22nd-23rd Century; along the way I looked over Star Blazers Fleet Battle System which is the same setting.
- Littoral Commander: The Baltic was work for an article for The Armchair Dragoons.
- I was looking at playing Boots on the Ground to go with Adam Kovac’s novel The Surge but ultimately decided to pass on that “History to Wargame” opportunity out of respect for Adam’s book.
- The other wargames were all reviewed as I spent the first half of the month trying to meet the 2026 #charactergeneration challenge before giving up.

Hi! Just an FYI for what it’s worth. I read blogs on a feed aggregator, and I notice that (just as I often do) your subject lines are somewhat problematic when foreshortened. I probably miss a few posts as I go scrolling by. I’ve tried to take that into account when writing my own posts, but thought I’d share the thought with you. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/1ajvezn4sgn646drpfpcn/Screenshot_20260201-102413.png?rlkey=hm2bazwngmmmpqp2jsdh8wa68&dl=0
Thanks. I’ll try to keep that in mind!
