Boardgame Bulletin 25-5 / TTRPG Roll 25-20 / Wargame SITREP 25-25 ~ Nice dice

Like many gamers who play boardgames, wargames, and especially roleplaying games I acquired many, MANY dice over the years. My dice are usually kept in a deep drawer in a storage room. I know some people who like to put their dice in a fish bowl or small aquarium for storage and/or display. Mrs. RockyMountainNavy has instilled directed in me a need to organize and a colorful aquarium would look nice but finding a set of dice in such a wild mix is almost certainly problematic. To try to get a better handle on my dice collection I purchased an organizing bin.

There are many styles and drawer-counts to choose from and I thought that buying a 64-drawer case might be too much.

Geez, I underestimated myself.

I fit all the dice shown above and a few other sets I had missed in my initial grab. I was not very conservative in assigning drawers; most sets got their own drawer or dice were grouped by number of faces and size. Where I had labels I made sure to put them in the bottom of the drawer for future reference.

Crystal clear drawers would have been nice but mostly opaque still works (photo by RMN)

The cabinet can be hung. I do not have a dedicated game room to put this up; if I did I would have invested in a better designed—as in not as industrial looking—cabinet. This one likely will hang in a closet near my office/gaming loft where it can be readily accessed. [Or maybe not. The spacing for the hanging points are .5 meters apart instead of the American home construction standard of 16 inches between studs. Given my closet is bare studs I now need to buy and mount some boards across three studs to hang this somewhere in between. I know—first world problems…]

The final organization was finished after the picture immediately above but in the end (for today) I have eight unused drawers.

That means I can get some more dice sets, yes?

Very slick. I’ve got my dice in bags, storage containers, and a big serving dish. Not so neat as what you’ve got going…

What an impressive dice collection! Sometimes I feel like an outsider in this hobby because I barely have any variety of dice 😀
