I am proud to be an international gamer. In the past two weeks (since August 9) I have taken in five new games, three of which (60%) were released by publishers outside of the Untied States.
August 9 – 1943-1945 (formerly The Soft Underbelly: 1943-1945) by Sergio Schiavi of Dissimula Edizioni in Italy. Looking for a good book on the Italian Campaign I can pair with this game for a History to Wargame series article.
August 11 – Boots on the Ground Deluxe by Sean Cooke from Worthington Games in Virginia Beach, VA of the good ‘ole United States of America. Thoughts forthcoming on The Armchair Dragoons.
August 11 – The Mandalorian: Adventures by Corey Konieczka of Unexpected Games (Left coast Los Angeles in the United States of America; honestly, I could almost count Cali as a separate country, but I digress). Initial “unboxing reaction” posted earlier this week.
August 13 – Starship Scavengers – Trouble on Helanga by Grinning Frog Games of York, United KINGDOM.
August 17 – The Battle of Khalkin Gol: July-August 1939 by Vukašin Nišavić and Janko Nišavić of Princips Games, Serbia. I already have Stuart D. Goldman’s Nomonhan, 1939: The Red Army’s Victory That Shaped World War II (Naval Institute Press, 2012) on hand to start on a History to Wargame series posting.
