TTRPG Roll 24-27 ~ The Year may be Zero but All Time’s Armory is ticking weapons off one by one

As much as I love my Traveller roleplaying game and the modern Cepheus Engine version, I am also a huge fan of the Free League Publishing Year Zero Engine. With multiple Free League titles in hand, such as ALIEN: The Roleplaying Game, Twilight: 2000 4th Edition, Blade Runner: The Roleplaying Game, and others I certainly have lots of source materials to draw upon. Author and publisher Thomas Kathmann has nonetheless provided yet another resource available for download from DriveThruRPG for the mere price of…FREE!

According to the ad copy All Time’s Armory offers:

Welcome to a supplement for the Year Zero Engine that will take you on a journey spanning the history of mankind, from the dawn of tools in the Stone Age to our bustling present and beyond into a wondrous future teeming with technological marvels.

The All Time’s Armory is designed with flexibility in mind, allowing you to easily incorporate its contents into a game built on the Step Dice System of the Year Zero Engine.

It also uses the advantage and disadvantage mechanics, which I prefer for its simplicity. However, I provide guidelines to convert it to other flavors of the Year Zero Engine in an appendix.

All Time’s Armory is a 110 page pdf produced under the Fria Ligan (Free League ) Free Tabletop License (FTL). In Armory, Kathmann has broken time (no pun intended) into ten eras to help Referees and players decide what equipment may be available. Though titled Armory, inside the book one finds more than just weapons. Indeed, within each chapter is not just supplies and ironmongery, but also helpful recaps of rules that a Referee or player can use to better understand the items and enhance play during a session or campaign.

Given the broad time covered in All Time’s Armory, a Referee will almost certainly be called upon to make a determination if a particular item is useful, relevant, or even allowed in a game. Likewise, seeing as All Time’s Armory is free, players and Referees will be equally free to make those decisions themselves.
