A look at my wargame acquisitions in 2023 (technically Dec 25, 2022 thru Dec 24, 2023) as found in my 2023 RockyMountainNavy’s Wargame/Boardgame GeekList of Acquisitions. Of note, these numbers do NOT include my RPG acquisitions found at my 2023 RockyMountainNavy’s GeekList of RPG Acquisitions.

Wargames released in 2023 account for 63% all wargame items acquired in 2023. This showed me a bias towards the new I didn’t realize I had. Then again, it is easier in many ways to acquire “new” items than to hunt for bargains on the old.

Of note, seven (7) wargame items were “free” (i.e gifts/free/swap table).
My average wargame cost—$28.01—compares rather favorably with my average boardgame cost which comes in at $28.78. At least I’m somewhat “consistent” in what I am willing to pay for a game…
