Pirates Beware

This guy has a collection of many photos takes from Munmu the Great, the ROKN destroyer currently on patrol off Somalia.

Very few of these photos seem to be making it to the Korean media here.  Don’t know if that is just a function of me seeing mostly the English-language versions of papers and just missing the Korean but…I think there is a true lack of coverage by the press.  Why?  The back reason for the deployment was to be competative with Japan and China…and there is not a real economic incentive (read “profit to be made”) in carrying out the mission.  Surprisingly, I don’t even see connections in the press between the anti-piracy mission and Seouls maybe yes-maybe no participation in the Proliferation Security Initiative (PSI).
